BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team split their Conference Carolinas doubleheader against UNC Pembroke Saturday afternoon, winning the second game 2-1.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- A solo home run gave the Braves an early 1-0 lead, though the Tornado scored three in the bottom of the inning.
- Michael Starrs hit an RBI double to score Truman Roper before Andrew Bryant hit a two-RBI double to center field, scoring Starrs and Nathan Borchardt to take a 3-1 lead.
- After UNCP scored two in the fifth, they tied the game in the seventh before taking a 6-4 lead.
- The Braves then added three runs in the eighth, taking a 9-4 win.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Borchardt hit a one-out single in the bottom of the third, scoring when Starrs hit a single through the right side, advancing to second on the throw before scoring on an error, with Borchardt scoring on an error by the right fielder to put King in front 2-0.
- UNC Pembroke scored a run in the sixth on an RBI double, pulling to within 2-1.
- Corbin Dickenson then sent the Braves down in order in the seventh, with a strikeout and a game-ending groundout back to the pitcher, with King hanging on for a 2-1 victory.
