King finishes 5th at Conference Carolinas championship

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The King University men's golf team moved up three places on the leaderboard on the final day of the Conference Carolinas Championships, with three players recording under-par rounds as the Tornado finish fifth. Carles Calvo Molina was named to the All-Tournament team after finishing tied for sixth.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Day Three
  • Calvo Molina shot a 67 in the final round, moving him into a tie for sixth with a three-day total of 219.
  • Asmund Norum had the best round of the day for anybody in the field, carding a 66 to finish tied for 15th with 225.
  • Tyler Kipp finished tied for 22nd after shooting a two-under 70 in the final round, totaling 229.
  • Jose Luis Garcia Jimenez finished tied for 38th, shooting a final round of 74. He had a three-day total of 235.
  • Tyler Sayers shot a 78 in the final round.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Day Two
  • Calvo Molina shot a 75 on Monday, moving into a tie for 13th with a two-round total of 152.
  • Norum and Kipp are tied for 34th, with Norum improving on his round one score by nine strokes, shooting a 75 on Monday.
  • Kipp shot an 82 in the second round, giving him a two-round total of 159.
  • Garcia Jimenez shot an 80 on Monday, putting him tied for 37th with a total of 161.
  • Gustav Damgaard dropped six strokes off his round one score, carding a second round 78. He is tied for 39th with a total of 162.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Day One
  • Calvo Molina and Kipp are tied for 14th after carding matching scores of 77, placing them at five-over.
  • Garcia Jimenez is tied for 38th after shooting a first day 81.
  • Damgaard and Norum both shot 84 in the first round, making them tied for 42nd.
FOR THE FOES
  • Barton won the championship, shooting a combined 276 in the final round, finishing with a three-day total of 861. They finished 35 strokes ahead of second place Mount Olive.
  • Harrison Wierse of Barton was the individual champion, winning a three-way playoff against teammates Kris Jackson and Ryan Jahr.
