Greenwood, S.C. – The King University men's golf team finished tied for fifteenth overall at the Greenwood Men's Invitational, hosted by Lander University. Competing in their second tournament of the spring season, the Tornado posted a three-round team score of +20 (884) against a competitive 18-team field.
Carlos Calvo Molina led the Tornado, finishing 25th overall with a three-round score of 214 (-1). Calvo Molina opened the tournament with a 71 and followed with two rounds of even par to finish the event and pace King.
Nathan Hopley followed, placing 59th overall with a total score of 223 (+7). Hopley improved each round of the tournament, opening with a 78 before posting rounds of 74 and 71 to close the event with his best round of the week.
Garrett Wellman and Vetle Saether each finished tied for 71st with identical three-round totals of 225 (+9). Wellman recorded rounds of 77, 77, and 71, finishing strong with his lowest round in the final round. Saether opened the tournament with a 72 before carding rounds of 78 and 75.
Carter Myers rounded out the Tornado lineup, finishing 80th overall with a total score of 227 (+11). Myers posted consistent rounds of 75, 77, and 75 across the three-round tournament.
