MARS HILL, N.C. – The King University men's swim team opened their 2025-26 season with a tri-meet against Mars Hill and Lenoir-Rhyne.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tornado opened the meet as Cristobal Amiel, Charly Arias, Matthew Montenegro-Strunk, and Fabio Ricci won the 200-yard medley relay by two seconds with a time of 1:36.90.
- Ricci shared the title for the 100-yard freestyle as Lenoir-Rhyne's Renato Herran and him both touched the wall at 47.78 seconds.
- Arias finished second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:57.83. Montenegro-Strunk touched the wall third in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Amiel took fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48. 25. And second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.46.
- Oliver Toledo and Evan Hayes took first and third in the 1000-yard freestyle with times of 10:05.89 and 10:44.26 respectively. Toledo also took third place in the 500-yard freestyle finishing in 4:57.66.
- Patricio Perezpuebla Quijano finished the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.43 for a fourth place finish.
- The quad of Arias, Jack McDaniel, Toledo, and Ricci finished the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:30.21 for third place.

The Tornado will make the short trip to Milligan University next Saturday for a non-conference dual-meet.
