Jarrett Joles named new Director & Head Coach of Esports

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University Vice President of Athletics Jose Larios has announced the hiring of Jarrett Joles as the new Director and Head Coach of Esports. A 2025 graduate and former standout competitor for King Esports, Joles returns to his alma mater to lead and grow the program that helped shape his collegiate career.

Joles earned his bachelor's degree in Security & Intelligence from King University, where he was a four-year starter in the Esports program. During his time as a student-athlete, he served as team captain in both Valorant and Counterstrike, guiding King to several notable achievements including semifinal appearances in NECC, AVGL, and NACE leagues. Most notably, he helped King capture a national championship in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for Rocket League.

"Jarrett's passion for King, his leadership as team captain, and his clear vision for the future of Esports make him an excellent fit to lead this program," said Larios. "We are thrilled to welcome him back to campus and look forward to watching King Esports continue to thrive under his direction."

Joles' professional background includes leadership and management roles with Omega Parking Services and Wilson Air Center, where he developed strong skills in communication, team training, and operational excellence

Coupled with his competitive experience, he brings a unique blend of organizational leadership and firsthand knowledge of collegiate Esports. As he steps into his new role, Joles is eager to build on King's strong foundation by strengthening recruitment pipelines, enhancing training and player development, and fostering community engagement.

"Returning to King is an incredible opportunity and blessing," said Joles. "This University and this program under former Director Frank Morgan have had a profound impact on my life and faith journey. I am excited to give back, serve our student-athletes, and glorify Christ through the growth of King Esports. Together, I believe we can elevate this program to new heights while staying true to the mission and values of King University."
