Women's Volleyball Outlasts Mount Olive in Tight Sweep

The King University women's volleyball team earned a gritty home sweep on Friday night, defeating Mount Olive 3–0 inside the Student Center Complex. The Tornado (11-14, 9-9 Conference Carolinas) relied on a balanced offense and clutch defense to edge out the Trojans (12-14, 10-8) in a tightly contested match.

Bristol, Tenn. – The King University women's volleyball team earned a gritty home sweep on Friday night, defeating Mount Olive 3–0 inside the Student Center Complex. The Tornado (11-14, 9-9 Conference Carolinas) relied on a balanced offense and clutch defense to edge out the Trojans (12-14, 10-8) in a tightly contested match.

Set One
King opened the match with a steady offensive rhythm, hitting .196 as a team. Gracia Love and Chloe Clayton led the attack, while Faith Morse anchored the back row with 33 digs. The Tornado pulled away late to secure a 25–22 win in the opening frame.

Set Two
The second set proved to be the most dramatic, featuring nine tie scores and four lead changes. King hit .213 behind strong play from Riley Nelson and Isabel Krick. Setter Kylie Love dished out 20 assists to keep the offense in sync. The Tornado held off a late Mount Olive rally to take the set 28–26.

Set Three
Mount Olive made a final push in the third, led by Breanna Reisinger and Olivia Melvin. However, King responded with its best offensive performance of the night, hitting .236 and recording 19 kills. Princess Emma Oluwa and Love delivered key points down the stretch to close out the match 25–23.
