BRISTOL, Tenn.- The King University Women's Volleyball team put up a tough fight against Conference Carolinas' unbeaten leaders, Converse, but ultimately dropped a 3-1 decision (21-25, 20-25, 25-19, 19-25) at the Student Center Complex in Bristol, Tenn. The Friday night matchup drew 122 fans, who witnessed fierce rallies, momentum swings, and standout efforts from both squads.

Converse stormed out to an early lead, taking the first two sets 25-21 and 25-20 on the strength of efficient hitting and strong blocking. King bounced back in the third set with a 25-19 victory, fueled by timely kills and improved defense. However, Converse regrouped in the fourth and closed out the match, remaining undefeated in Conference Carolinas play.
King Highlights:
- Cameron Martin led the Tornado with 11 kills and added 10 digs, earning a double-double and 12.5 points.
- Isabella Statzer (9 kills, .300 hitting, 2 aces, 3 block assists) and Capri Johnson (8 kills, 1 solo block, 2 block assists) powered the offense at the net.
- Haley Harnichar and Avery Schwieger each chipped in 7 kills, while Statzer and Schwieger were active on the block and in the back row.
- Setters Ella Kiser (13 assists) and Amaya Hall (17 assists, 10 digs) directed the attack and contributed defensively.
- The Tornado delivered 44 kills, 39 assists, 14 block assists, and matched Converse with 75 digs, showing resilience throughout the contest.
Despite the loss, King tested the Valkyries in several extended rallies and came away with a set win against the league's top team, demonstrating progress as the season continues.
