HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
- Mariya Williams got the Tornado started with a layup. That started a 10-0 run for the Tornado that last until the 1:47 mark in the first quarter.
- Sarah Thompson had all five of her points from Mount Olive turnovers.
Second Quarter
- Raven Addison hit back to back shots to start a 9-0 run for King in a two minute span.
- Addison hit the final shot of the first half with a jump shot – her tenth in the game and seventh in the quarter.
- Williams added 8 more points to her total. King outscored Mount Olive 20-12 in the second half quarter.
Third Quarter
- Ashley Allen and Williams went three-for-three on layups to give King a twenty-point lead for the first time in the game with 6:32 left in the quarter.
- Alayna Smith hit back to back layups with under two minutes remaining on the clock.
- Five Tornado players helped contribute to the sixteen points in the quarter.
Fourth Quarter
- King opened the fourth quarter with six-straight points from Williams and Smith.
- Thompson gave King their largest lead of the game at 3:37 with another layup from a turnover.
- Thea Palmore finished the game with a pair of free throws giving King the 73-51 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Four Tornado scored double-digits with Mariya Williams leading the charge with 16 points after shooting 8-13 from the floor. Le'Aije Ellington and Sarah Thompson each had 12 points. Raven Addison had 10 with 6 coming from beyond the arc.
- Williams was one rebound short of a double-double with nine total.
- Ashley Allen had six assists and Ellington had a game-high 3 steals.
- As a team, King outscored Mount Olive 24-16 on points from turnovers and 40-26 from inside the paint.
FOR THE FOES
- Jerin Truesdale scored a team-high 15 points. Janna Tupuola and Jada Priebe each had nine.
- Mount Olive had three players with 3 rebounds each while all but one player had at least one rebound.
