WISE, Va. – Trailing 5-2 in the eighth, the King University baseball team rallied to force extra innings Tuesday before falling 6-5 to UVA Wise in a nonconference game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Starrs started with a two-out home run in the top of the first to give King a quick lead.
- The Cavaliers scored twice in the bottom of the second, before adding a run in the fifth to go ahead 3-2.
- In King's half of the sixth, Jose Ruiz drew a leadoff walk, eventually scoring when Levi Medford hit a sacrifice fly, bringing King to within 3-2.
- UVA Wise was able to work the lead to 5-2 entering the eighth, but King struck for three runs on two hits, including an RBI single from Medford, a Turner Stout RBI walk, and a wild pitch that allowed Medford to score the game-tying run.
- A King error in the bottom of the 11th allowed what would turn out to be the game-winning run to reach base, with the Cavaliers winning it a couple batters later with a single.

- UVA Wise had four doubles on the day.
- Dylan Foster was 3-for-6, with an RBI while Evan Stanley drove in two runs for UVA Wise.
