FLORENCE, S.C. – The King University baseball team suffered a walk-off loss Friday in the first game of a three-game Conference Carolinas series against UNC Pembroke.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Michael Starrs drew a two-out walk in the top of the first, setting up Amunategui for a two-run home run to left field, giving the Tornado an early 2-0 lead.
- The Braces responded with five runs over the next three innings, taking a 5-2 lead.
- In the King fifth, Jose Ruiz led off with a single, later stealing second before Josh Nuno hit a home run to left field, bringing King to within 5-4.
- Amunategui picked up another RBI in the seventh, as he singled to left field, scoring Nuno to tie the game at two.
- The game was still tied in the top of the ninth, where Nuno drew a one-out walk, advancing to second when Armunategui drew a walk. The scoring chance came to an end on a foul out to the pitcher, keeping the score tied at five.
- The Braves won the game on a walk-off single in the bottom of the inning.
FOR THE FOES
- Isaias Villarreal was 3-for-5, with a double and an RBI, along with a stolen base.
- Seth Willis got the win, coming on in the ninth and getting the Braves out of a Tornado scoring chance.
