Mariya Williams was named to the All-Conference Third Team.
Williams, a senior from Charlotte, North Carolina, started all 27 regular season games for the Tornado and was a starter in both of the post-season games for King earlier this week. She scored a team-high 391 points this year, averaging 14.5 against Conference Carolinas opponents. She had her season-high of 26 points and season-high 17 rebounds against Converse in the regular season finale. She averaged 8.7 rebounds to lead the team. Defensively, she led the Tornado with 61 total steals and 25 blocks.Â
Willaims finished the season as the tenth leading scorer in the Conference (13.8), the fourth best rebounder with an average of 8.4 per game. With a free throw percentage of 74.8%, she was tenth in the conference, she made 104 free throws this season - the fifth best mark in the league. Her 25 blocks were the sixth best in the Conference and she tied with three other players for the second most blocks during the year.
