BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team scored in every inning except for one Wednesday, winning a wild nonconference game 22-17 over Mars Hill.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mars Hill started by scoring three runs in the top of the first, with King using a pair of sacrifice fly's to get to within 3-2.
- After a three-run second by the Lions, King scored five in the bottom of the second, including a two-RBI triple by Nuno and a single from Borchardt, along with a balk and a wild pitch to put King in front 7-6.
- Mars Hill responded with two in the third before another five-run inning gave King the lead for good.
- Michael Starrs drew a two-out walk, before Nuno doubled to drive in Starrs.
- After Medford drew a walk, Borchardt hit a double to center field, driving in Nuno.
- The next batter was Roper, who went deep to left center field, making it a 12-8 Tornado lead.
- After King added a run in the fourth, both teams got a scoreless inning in the fifth.
- In the sixth, the Tornado scored four times, including RBI doubles from Starrs and Borchardt, as well as an RBI groundout from Patrick Corley.
- Corley added two more RBI in the seventh, singling up the middle to score Jose Ruiz and Jacob Eargle, giving the Tornado a 20-10 advantage.
- In the eighth, pinch hitter Daniel Hicks hit a infield single, allowing Joe Uribe to score.
- King then added their final run on a wild pitch, taking a 22-11 lead.
- In the top of the ninth, Mars Hill made things close, scoring seven runs on five hits, but Tanner Hunley was able to shut the door, getting a game-ending strikeout to preserve the 22-17 victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Zach Cimino was 2-for-5, with a home run and two RBI.
- Peyton Starkey had a game-high six RBI, going 4-for-6 with a double on the afternoon.
