BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University baseball opened its 2026 home schedule in emphatic fashion on Tuesday afternoon, powering past Emory & Henry in a
22–16 offensive showcase at King University. The Tornado erased an early double-digit deficit, produced scoring in six different innings, and delivered a decisive seven-run seventh frame to secure their second win of the season.

How it Happened
Early Offense from Both Sides
Emory & Henry opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first, but King responded immediately as
Misael Garcia drove in
Jose Ruiz to even the game at 1–1.
The Wasps then surged ahead with
10 runs across the second and third innings, highlighted by a two-run homer from
J. Rodriguez and a six-run third inning that pushed the deficit to 11–1.
Tornado Begin the Climb Back
King answered with a
five-run bottom of the third:
The rally cut the margin to 11–6.
In the fourth, the Tornado continued to chip away.
Kale Richardson singled down the left-field line to plate two, and
Vidal added another RBI to bring King within 11–9.
Momentum Swings in the Fifth
Emory & Henry briefly extended its lead with a three-run homer from
I. Stuart, making it 14–9.
King responded with its second major surge of the afternoon, scoring
six runs in the bottom half:

- Jackson Medure tripled to right

Seven-Run Seventh Seals the Home Opener
After the Wasps tied the game and then moved ahead 16–15 in the seventh, King delivered the decisive blow with a
seven-run inning:
- Medure scored on a double play to tie the game
- Logan Janney singled home the go-ahead run
- Tommy Regan added an RBI single
- A wild pitch brought home Rohde Kirkland
- Richardson capped the inning with a three-run home run to left
