Spartanburg, S.C. – The King University women's golf team competed at the Converse Spring Invitational at Carolina Country Club, hosted by Converse University. With three individuals representing the tornado, the two-round event featured a competitive field and provided valuable experience for King as the spring season continues.
Kate Watanasiripong led the Tornado, finishing tied for 17th overall with a two-round total of 166 (+22). Watanasiripong improved in the second round, carding an 82 after opening with an 84 to pace King across the tournament.
Gloria Capo placed 32nd overall with a total score of 174 (+30). Capo opened the event with an 85 in the first round before closing with an 89 in the second round.
Carolina Calzada rounded out King's individual competitors, finishing tied for 44th overall with a two-round total of 192 (+48). Calzada also improved in the second round, lowering her score by four strokes with a 94, opening the tournament with a 98.
