Final Day of SECC Season Opener

Cleveland, Ga. – The King University Cycling team competed at the SECC Season Opener over this past weekend and had a strong second day with a strong performance today coming from the duo of Nathan Feduniw and Hayden Fischer, finishing second and third, respectively, in the Downhill. On the women's side, Kaitlyn Mezo led the way for the women with a second-place finish in the Women 2/3-STXC.
 
King had a strong group in the Men 3 Downhill with two top-three finishers, Feduniw and Fischer. Colin Burgess took on the Men P1/2 Downhill with a 19^th place.
 
In the Women's 2/3-STXC, Mezo led the way in second place with a time of 17:09.87, finishing four laps. Mashaila Fordham was right behind her in fourth place, finishing four laps as well with a time of 18:44.85.
 
Ashley Davis competed in the P1/2-STXC with a time of 17:19.23, finishing five laps.
 
Cayden Holmes and Willy Gomez both placed top 15 in the Men 2/3-STXC. Holmes was able to finish sixth as aforementioned, completing seven laps in 24:28.13. Gomez was able to complete five laps with a time of 19:10.11, finishing in 14^th place.
 
The Men in the P1/2-STXC had a strong group, having four athletes from 13^th to 18^th place. Jose Pena, Cooper Ward, Jayson Wallace, and Nathan Feduniw. Pena finished 13^th with 10 laps and a time of 31:26.52; Ward finished 14^th with nine laps and a time of 28:44.92; Wallace finished 17^th with seven laps and a time of 22:29.92; and Feduniw finished 18^th with six laps and a time of 19:25.54.
