MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The King University women's tennis team continued Conference Carolinas play on the road on Friday at the University of Mount Olive. The Trojans started the match with three wins at doubles before taking all six singles matches for the 9-0 victory.
For King (1-7, 1-3 CC), the No. 1 doubles team of Katya Cerny and Nia Gilliam fell 8-6 to Francesca Ceppi and Alejandra Hernandez. The Trojans (2-1, 1-0 CC) then took the next two doubles matches to open up a 3-0 lead.
In singles play, Cerny took the first set from Hernandez 6-3, but dropped the next two by the scores of 6-3, 10-6. At No. 4 singles, Amanda Huffaker fell 6-1, 6-2 to Maite Bellos.
King will be in action again on Saturday when they take on Barton College in Wilson, N.C. at 12:00 p.m.
