BRISTOL, Tenn. – The members of the King University women's triathlon team were earned Individual Scholar All-America honors by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association and USA Triathlon.
Stephanie Dansie,
Abbie Erme and
Jayne Wolbert all were recognized.
Dansie finished the season two wins, coming at both of the King events. Erme's top finish of her freshman season was third, coming at each of the King races. In her first collegiate triathlon season, Wolbert's top finish was fourth at the King Fall Triathlon.
This award is presented to student-athletes who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the spring 2021 semester. The Individual Scholar All-America award recognizes student-athletes in each of the three NCAA divisions who excel in the classroom.
The NCAA named triathlon an Emerging Sport for Women in 2014, a designation that gives the sport a 10-year window to demonstrate sustainability at the NCAA level. Thirty-seven colleges and universities across the country currently sponsor the sport at the varsity level.
