MARS HILL, N.C. – The King University women's swimming team returned to the pool on Saturday and dropped a pair of meets. King fell to host Mars Hill University 116-71 and Lees-McRae College 126-57.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tornado started the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 yard medley relay time as the team of Ashley Woods, Lynsey Knox, Laura Ayres and Michelle Morlock finished in 2:08.29.
- Woods finished third in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:35.45.
- Morlock came in fifth in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.42.
- Jamie Edwards finished runner-up in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.17 seconds while Brooke Williams came in fourth with a time of 26.36 seconds.
- In the 200 yard individual medley, Samantha Davis finished third with a time of 2:30.29 while Woods came in fourth at 2:33.02.
- Edwards finished runner-up with a 100 yard butterfly time of 1:03.63 while Ayres finished fourth at 1:08.24.
- Williams finished fourth in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 59.72 seconds.
- In the 100 yard backstroke, Davis came in third, touching the wall in 1:06.49.
- Ayres touched the wall in the 500 yard freestyle in 6:09.46 to finish fifth.
- King closed the meet by winning the 200 yard freestyle relay as the quartet of Williams, Morlock, Davis and Edwards finished in 1:46.38.
UP NEXT
- King is in action again on Saturday when they host Emory & Henry College on Senior Day. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. at Tennessee HS.
- Lees-McRae is in action again on Saturday at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
- Mars Hill travels to take on Carson-Newman University on Friday evening.
