BRISTOL, Tenn. -- The King University women's swimming team picked up their first win of the season Saturday afternoon, knocking off Emory & Henry College 153-83. The Tornado also competed against Lenoir-Rhyne University, losing 150-104.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ashley Woods picked up the first win of the day for King, coming in first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:23.52.
- Samantha Davis picked up a win in the 50 yard backstroke, touching the wall in 29.88 to win by over half a second.
- In the 50 yard freestyle, Jamie Edwards and Brooke Williams tied, as they both finished in 25.25.
- Davis picked up a second win in the 100 yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:04.44.
- King also won the 200 yard freestyle relay, with the team of Williams, Davis, Michelle Morlock and Jamie Edwards finishing in 1:45.23 to win by over five seconds.
- Abbie Erme placed second in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 32.88. Teammate Gren Haag touched the wall in 35.75 while Josie Gunn finished in 39.91.
- Edwards and Williams took second and third in the 100 yard freestyle, with Edwards touching the wall in 55.98 and Williams in 57.66.
- Erme placed second in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.44. She also took second in the 100 yard individual medley, touching the wall in 1:05.67.
UP NEXT
- King will close out the regular season at Chowan on Feb. 5 before hosting the Conference Carolinas championships during the week of Feb. 15 at the Kingsport Aquatic Center.
