SPARANBURG, S.C. – The King University women's swimming team swam in their first dual of the season on Saturday, taking on Converse University. The Tornado dropped the dual 129-61.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 200 yard medley relay team of Samantha Davis, Gwen Haag, Lynsey Knox and Ashley Woods finished second with a time of 2:03.12.
- In the 1000 yard freestyle, Fanny Legros finished second with a time of 11:34.95.
- Davis and Michelle Morlock finished third and fourth in the 200 yard freestyle with times of 2:14.49 and 2:14.81, respectively.
- Madi Matthews won the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 25.31 seconds.
- Haag finished third in the even with a time of 26.64 seconds.
- In the 200 yard individual medley, Reese Lauletta finished second in 2:26.63.
- In the 100 yard freestyle, Matthews finished second in 56.07 seconds while Morlock and Woods finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Morlock touched the wall in 1:01.44 and Woods finished in 1:02.82.
- In the 100 yard backstroke, Davis finished third in 1:08.79 and Knox came in fifth in 1:11.94.
- Lauletta finished runner-up in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:48.38.
- Legros won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:36.35 while Haag finished third with a time of 2:42.04.
- The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Woods, Legros, Morlock and Lauletta finished second in 1:51.67.

"The women's team had a fantastic meet," said head coach Juan Somoza. "With only five days of knowing them I can see the potential in this group. The upperclassmen showed leadership and sportsmanship. The newcomers showed racing instinct. I'm excited for the future and ready to work with them more!"
