MURFREESBORO, N.C. — The King University women's swimming and diving team fell to the Chowan University Hawks in their final event of the regular season, 108-100 Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tornado relay teams won both of their events, including the 200-meter medley relay that started the event, where the team of Samantha Davis, Abbie Erme, Jamie Edwards and Brooke Williams finished with a time of 2:07.80, winning by two seconds over Chowan.
- The relays also finished the event, as King's grouping of Michelle Morlock, Gwen Haag, Laura Ayres and Ashley Woods won the 200-meter freestyle relay with a time of 2:02.91, four seconds ahead of Chowan's team.
- The Tornado also won a handful of individual events, starting with the 400-meter freestyle, where Woods finished in 4:50.35.
- Erme picked up her first individual win of the day in the 50-meter breaststroke, touching the wall in 37.38 seconds to win by two seconds. Haag also swam in the event, finishing third while Josie Gunn placed sixth.
- The Tornado brought home a 1-2 finish in the 50-meter freestyle, with Edwards narrowly edging Williams by half a second, touching the wall in 28.37 seconds to Williams' 28.87 seconds.
- Erme added a second individual win in the 100-meter breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:21.29. Gunn finished sixth in the event with a time of 1:44.24.
- In the 50-meter backstroke, Davis finished second, with a time of 33.41 seconds, missing out on a win by under two-tenths of a second.
- Edwards finished second in the 100-meter butterfly, touching the wall in 1:08.38. Ayers finished fourth with a time of 1:13.85, while Lynsey Knox was fifth, with a time of 1:23.27.
- Morlock brought home a third-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle, touching in 1:06.36 to edge Ayers, who finished fourth with a time of 1:07.74.
- In the 100-meter backstroke, Davis came second with a time of 1:13.45 while Woods was third, touching the wall in 1:17.72. Knox rounded out the King contingent, finishing in 1:21.27.

- This was the final regular season event for the Tornado, who will turn their eyes to the Conference Carolinas championships, which they will host Feb. 16-19 at the Kingsport Aquatic Center.
