Tornado drop tight dual at SWU

CENTRAL, S.C. – The King University women's tennis dropped a road Conference Carolinas dual on Saturday afternoon at Southern Wesleyan University. The Tornado took three wins in singles and another in doubles, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors took the dual 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Deniz Aytun and Mishka Koricinova earned a 7-6 (7-4) victory over Anya King and Natalie White at No. 1 doubles.
  • However, the Warriors won the No. 2 doubles match 6-3 and took the third flight be default to take the doubles point.
  • Aytun earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over King at the top flight in singles.
  • At No. 5 singles, Mireia Mas Ortega defeated Camille Cunningham 7-5, 7-5.
  • Koricinova took the first set from Maria Koutsiou 6-1, before Koutsio retired at No. 2 singles.
  • However, it wasn't enough as the Warriors won the other three matches, including No. 6 by default to take the dual 4-3.
