King opens season at at ETSU Aquathon

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The King University women's triathlon team got their season started on Saturday with a swim and run at the ETSU Aquathon. Abbie Erme led the way for the Tornado in a meet that featured four teams.

THE BASICS
LOCATION: ETSU; Johnson City, Tenn.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Erme was the first Tornado to cross the tape for the Tornado with a time of 20:30. She finished the swim in 6:29.9 and the run in 13:30.
  • Jayne Wolbert finished next, crossing the finish line in 24:10 following a 6:20.9 swim and 17:14 run.
  • Coming in next for the Tornado was Elizabeth Rehkopf who finished in 24:40. She finished the swim in 6:27.7 and the run in 17:27.
  • Madi Matthews was the first Tornado to finish the swim with a time of 6:16.9. She then completed the run in 18:29 to finish with a total time of 25:10.
FOR THE FOES
  • Kira Ribbink of Queens University won the event with a time of 16:23.
UP NEXT
  • The Tornado are in action again on September 10 at the Beaver County Tri Cup in Beaver Falls, Pa. The race is scheduled to start at 7:00 a.m.
