Cassie Lowe won three events Wednesday night, but the King University women's swimming team dropped their first Conference Carolinas dual of the season at Converse University, 164-92.
Katie Koenst and
Reese Lauletta both set school records.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cassie Lowe had three event wins, starting in the 50 yard backstroke (28.73 seconds). She also won the 50 yard freestyle (26.12 seconds) and the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.59).
- Fanny Legros placed second in the 1000 yard freestyle, coming in with a time of 11:39.05.
- Katie Koenst and Derin Yerlikaya were second and third in the 200 yard freestyle, with Koenst taking second in 2:03.43 and Yerlikaya touching the wall in 2:07.08.
- Abbie Erme took second in the 50 yard breaststroke, swimming a season-best 32.66 seconds. Gwen Haag wasn't far behind, touching the wall in 33.15 seconds.
- Reese Lauletta was second in the 100 yard butterfly, while Koenst took third with a time of 1:06.08.
- Erme finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing in 1:12.05, while Gracie Lynch was fourth in 1:27.57.
- The 200 yard freestyle relay team consisting of Lowe, Haag, Erme and Lauletta closed the night with a second-place finish, combining for a time of 1:45.70.
UP NEXT
- The Tornado will swim at Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday, with the meet scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
- Converse will swim at Barton Oct. 28.
