BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team picked up right where they left off in the fall, topping the University of Pikeville 4-3 Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- King won the doubles point, winning both matches that were played.
- At no. 1 doubles, Deniz Aytun and Mishka Koricinova teamed up for a 6-1 win, while at no. 2 doubles it was Neem Shamsuddin and Mireia Mas Ortega who won, 6-3 to clinch the point.
- Aytun won her match at the top singles flight, 6-0, 6-0 over Madison Ball.
- At no. 2 singles, it was Koricinova who picked up a win, 6-2, 6-4 over Gabriela Guacanes.
- The Tornado also took no. 3 singles, where Shamsuddin won 6-1, 6-1.
- The no. 4 singles match didn't go King's way, as Mas Ortega dropped a 6-2, 6-7, 9-11 matchup to Katharina Steib.
- Pikeville won the final two flights via forfeit.
