WISE, Va. – The King University baseball team hit six home runs Tuesday afternoon in a 13-12 nonconference win over UVA Wise.
Josh Nuno had a pair of home runs as the Tornado picked up their first win of the season.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Nuno was 2-for-3, with both of his hits being home runs, along with three RBI.
- Other Tornado who homered includes Conner Hyatt, Michael Starrs, Chad Evans and Levi Medford.
- The six home runs that King hit is the second-most in a single game since becoming an NCAA Division II program. The record for most home runs in a single game is nine, set on March 7, 2012 against Mars Hill.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nuno started the game with a home run on the fifth pitch of the game, giving the Tornado an early lead.
- Wise then scored three in the bottom of the inning, all coming on a three-run home run to take their first lead of the day.
- Medford led off the second with a home run, closing the lead to 3-2. In the third, King scored twice, with Nathan Borchardt singling, Hyatt scoring on an error, and Borchardt scoring on a wild pitch to put King in front 4-3.
- King scored five runs in the top of the fourth, with Hyatt, Nuno and Evans all hitting home runs, with Nuno and Evans each hitting a two-run shot.
- After UVA Wise scored five runs over the next two innings the Tornado added four in the sixth, with Starrs hitting a home run, while Andrew Bryant hit an RBI single and Mason Swartz reached base on a fielder's choice, allowing Bryant to score and make the score 13-9.
- The Cavaliers then scored a run in the eighth, before adding a pair in the ninth, with a chance to win the game with the bases loaded and two outs, but Cayden Goodwin was able to get a clutch strikeout to close the game.

- Cole Harness was 2-for-5, with a pair of home runs and four RBI.
- Justin Reed was 3-for-4, with a triple and a team-high five RBI.
