Chad Evans hit a two-run home run Friday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as the King University baseball team fell in the opening game of their Conference Carolinas series against Barton College, 11-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Barton got on the board early, scoring seven runs over the first four innings, taking a 7-0 lead.
- King responded in the bottom of the sixth, scoring all three of their runs, with Roper leading off with a single before Evans homered on the first pitch he saw.
- Garcia followed with a triple, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Borchardt to cut the lead to 7-3.
- The Bulldogs added three in the seventh, before adding one in the ninth to take a 11-3 lead.
- King got runners to first and second in the bottom of the ninth, but were unable to score, falling 11-3.
FOR THE FOES
- Salvatore Laimo was 4-for-6, with an RBI and a run scored.
- Matthew Rivera had a pair of hits and four RBI on the day, with Gavin Gilmore adding two more RBI.
