ABINGDON, Va. – The King University women's swim team defeated Emory & Henry on the road on Friday night to open their 2025 schedule.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- King swept the top four spots in the 200 yard freestyle. Katie Koenst won with a time of 2:04.15 followed by Alice Schoemans (2:07.43), Derin Yerlikaya (2:08.01), and Avery Banes (2:08.46).
- Reese Lauletta won the 1000 yard freestyle by six seconds at 11:42.49.
- Banes and Lauletta went 1-2 in the 100 yard freestyle at 58.37 and 59.70. Yerlikaya and Banes then went 1-2 in the 500 yard freestyle with times of 5:45.42 and 5:53.11 respectively.
- Abigail Hogben was the only Tornado in the 100 yard backstroke and won with a time of 1:04.88.
- Koenst, Yerlikaya, Banes, and Schoemans closed the meet with a win in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a three second win.
