Tornado Athletics adds Joye Levendusky as Director of Strength and Conditioning

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University Vice President of Athletics Jose Larios has announced the hiring of Joye Levendusky as the new Director of Strength and Conditioning. Levendusky brings a dynamic background as a decorated athlete, certified trainer, and experienced coach, and she will oversee the training, performance, and wellness development of Tornado student-athletes.

Levendusky earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Sports Performance with a minor in Sports Psychology and is currently pursuing her MBA. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Sports Nutrition Coach, bringing both academic expertise and practical experience to King University. Over the past four years, she has coached more than 80 clients as a remote health coach, in addition to working as a personal trainer, helping athletes and individuals of all backgrounds achieve their goals.

Larios expressed excitement about the addition of Levendusky to the Tornado staff: "Joye brings a high level of excellence and expertise with the right balance of faith integration and whole-person development that made her a perfect fit to lead our strength and conditioning program. Joye gets it, and we're so excited to have her serving our student athletes."

As a competitor, Levendusky is a current senior-level wrestler for Team USA, a five-time All-American, three-time national finalist, U.S. Open Champion, and Team USA National Team member. She also competed in multiple sports growing up, including soccer, diving, track and field, and wrestling, giving her a well-rounded perspective as both an athlete and coach.

Her coaching experience includes serving as an assistant coach and later head coach of the women's wrestling program at Southern Oregon University, where she also directed the team's strength and conditioning program.

Levendusky's vision for King Athletics centers on three pillars: relentless effort, intentional excellence, and people first. She aims to foster a culture where athletes consistently give their best, grow in their athletic development, and build habits that will serve them long after competition.

"Doing what others will not is the mindset I want to instill in the athletes at King," said Levendusky. "My goal is to help our student-athletes become not only great competitors but also great people, which I believe is the true purpose of college athletics."

Levendusky will also be joining the King women's wrestling program as an assistant coach. "We are extremely excited to have Joye on board!" commented Head Coach Bret Fry. "She's a great role model and brings a wealth of coaching and wrestling knowledge to our program. She has made a positive impact on our team in the short time she's been at King university. We are looking forward to watching her help develop these great student athletes."
