MARS HILL, N.C. – The King University baseball team traveled to Mars Hill for a single game on Wednesday afternoon, falling 13-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED
· King opened the game scoring 4 runs in the top of the first inning. Michael Starrs scored on a single up the middle from Nathan Borchardt. Borchardt eventually would score on a wild pitch. Conner Hyatt would hit Turner Stout and Joe Amunategui in on a single.
· The Tornado added 3 more runs in the top of the second inning to go up 7-0. Truman Roper scored on a wild pitch before Starrs scored on an Amunategui infield groudout. Borchardt scored during the next play on a Mars Hill error.
· Mars Hill would score three runs in the bottom half of the 2nd inning to cut into the King lead. They added three more runs in the fourth inning before taking a 1 run lead with 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth.
· In the sixth inning, the Tornado retook the lead with a Roper two-run home run. Mars Hill tied the game at nine after 6 innings.
· King added runs in the 7th and 9th innings, but a walk-off grand slam from Mars Hill finished the game at 13-11.
KING HIGHLIGHTS
· Joe Uribe went 3-4 and drew one walk.
· Truman Roper scored 2 runs, had 1 hit – a home run in the sixth inning – and totaled 3 RBI.
· Michael Starrs and Nathan Borchardt each scored twice. Conner Hyatt drove in two runs for the Tornado.
