Norum finishes tied for second at conference championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Asmund Norum finished in second place at the 2025 Conference Carolinas men's golf championships, the best individual finish at the conference championships for the Tornado since the 2014-15 season, when King had the individual medalist.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Round 3

• Norum shot a one-under par 71 in Tuesday's final round, finishing the tournament at a two-under par 214, missing out on the lead by just one stroke. He was one of just three players in the tournament to have two rounds where he finished under par. 
• Tyler Kipp shot a one-over par 73 Tuesday, finishing tied for 16th with a total score of 224. 
• Vetle Saether also shot a one-under par Tuesday, finishing the event with a total of 225. 
• Carter Myers and Carles Calvo Molina rounded out the King lineup, with Myers shooting an 80 in the final round, while Calvo Molina shot an 83. 

HOW IT HAPPENED - Round 2

• Norum improved on his day 1 score, dropping three strokes on Monday. He enters the final day of competition just two strokes back of the leader. 
• Tyler Kipp dropped to tied for 19th Monday, shooting an 81 in the second round. 
• Vetle Saether is tied for 34th after improving on his day 1 score by two strokes, carding a 76 Monday. 
• Carter Myers shot a 79 Monday, putting him at a tournament total of 161 heading into the final round.
• Carles calvo Molina shot an 88 Monday, putting him at 170 through two rounds

HOW IT HAPPENED - Round 1

• Tyler Kipp sits tied for first place individually after carded a two-under 70.
• Asmund Norum shot a 73 for a share of 9th place.
• Vetle Saether shot a 78 to share 31st.
• Carles Calvo Molina and Carter Myers rounded out the Tornado players with 82 to tie for 46th place.

• Norum will now wait to see if he earns an at-large bid to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional. The selections will be announced on Friday, April 25. The South/Southeast Regional will be hosted at Howey-In-The-Hills Golf Course at Mission Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida on May 8-10.
