Asmund Norum of the King University men's golf team won both Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, as well as being named First Team All-Conference Carolinas. The awards, which were voted on by the conference men's golf coaches, was released Thursday afternoon by the conference office.
Norum, a senior from Inderoy, Norway, finished the Conference Carolinas men's golf championships in second place, one stroke behind the winner. He was one of just three golfers to post multiple under-par rounds at the championships.
Over the course of the season, Norum has a 71.3 scoring average, with six top-10 finishes. He won the King University Invitational for the second consecutive season and was King's highest finisher at the conference championships since 2014-15.
Norum becomes the first-ever King golfer to win conference player of the year honors, he has now been named all-conference all four years at King, and entered this season second in career scoring average at 74.11.
