HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. –
Asmund Norum of the King University men's golf team finished the 2025 NCAA South/Southeast Regional third, earning a qualification spot at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. He is just the second Tornado to qualify for nationals in program history.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED – Conclusion
- Norum hit a birdie on the 16th hole of round two, before hitting a par on hole 17, taking the lead into the final round.
- After starting the third round on hole 18, Norum hit a pair of bogeys on his first two holes before hitting four straight pars.
- Norum made a birdie on the par-four sixth hole before three straight pars to close the front nine at one-over.
- After a birdie and a par on the first two holes of the back nine, Norum made par on both holes 12 an 13 before a birdie on 14 to bring him to even par for the round, falling into a tie for second place.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Round Two (First 16 holes)
- Norum started the second round right where he left off, shooting an eagle on the par-five first hole.
- After a bogey on the fourth hole, he birdied five, staying at two-under par for the day.
- He closed out the front nine with a birdie, moving into third place at three-under par.
- A birdie on the tenth hole, as well as two pars brought him into second place at four-under par.
- After making a birdie on 13 to pull even with the leader, Norum hit an Eagle on 14, moving him into the lead at seven-under.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Round One
- Norum started the round with three consecutive pars, eventually carding a pair of bogeys and a pair of birdies to stay at even-par after the first nine holes.
- He started the back nine with a seven on the 10th hole, gaining those strokes back on the 13th hole, where he hit a birdie before making an eagle on the 14th hole and a birdie on the 15th hole, pulling to two-under par.
- Norum closed the round with a birdie on the 17th hole, along with pars on 16 and 18, finishing with a score of 69.
FOR THE FOES
- Brandon Skidmore of Wingate and Jack Vajda of North Georgia finished in a tie for first place, with Vajda earning the individual title after a playoff.
- North Georgia dominated the second and third rounds en route to the team title.
UP NEXT
- Norum earns a berth into the NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championships, becoming the second Tornado in program history to earn an at-large berth to the national championships, and the first since the 2022 championships. Round one is scheduled for May 19 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
