Steigler earns bronze at U20 Pan-American Championships

LIMA, Peru. – Stella Steigler of the King University women's wrestling team earned her first international medal Friday, earning the bronze at the 2025 U20 Pan-American Championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Steigler, wrestling at 76 kilograms, started with a first period pin of Aomi Riques Morales of Peru, before dropping her second match 12-1 to Mexico's Edna Jimenez Villalba.
• Despite the loss, Steigler advanced to the semifinals, where she faced Rupinder Johal of Canada, where she lost via pin.
• In the bronze medal match, Steigler was trailing 8-2 on points when she won via pin in 1:54 to take the medal.
