ROME, Ga. – The King University women's soccer team defeated Shorter University in the first Conference Carolinas match of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- King took their first shot on goal in the fourth minute by Johana Martinez. Brianna Sabatino was then assisted by Ella Froehlich and Mayra Munoz for the Tornado's first goal ten minutes later.
- Martinez got one by the Shorter goalie just seconds before halftime to put King up 2-0. Mia Van Groningen Dack provided the assist.
- The Tornado then dominated control of the ball in the second half with 19 shots towards the Shorter goal while the Hawks took just one shot. Ella Froehlich and Izzy Clark led the offense with 13 combined shots with 8 on target.
- Froehlich scored the final goal of the game just after the 80 minute mark with an assist from Elsa Pelicant.
