Belmont, N.C.- The King University Women's Volleyball team came up just short on the road, falling in four close sets to Belmont Abbey on Monday evening at the Wheeler Center in Belmont, N.C.
King took the third set but ultimately dropped the match 3-1 (24-26, 18-25, 25-23, 22-25) in a back-and-forth Conference Carolinas contest. The Tornado were led by
Isabella Statzer's 9 kills and 3 aces, while
Capri Johnson posted 10 kills and a .316 hitting percentage.
Madison Singleton added 7 kills, and
Ella Kiser dished out 22 assists on the night.
King finished with 46 kills, 15 blocks, and 50 digs, showing grit in several close sets.
Princess Emma Oluwa added 4 kills and 5 digs off the bench, and
Cameron Martin contributed a team-high 7 digs in three sets of action.
