Flat Rock, N.C. – The King University Cycling team competes on the first day of the SECCC Conference Championships, where King earns some wins in the XCO from
Colin Horton and
Alexa Whaley in the twos and threes.

Whaley and
Kaitlyn Mezo started the morning on a tear, going one and two in the Women's twos and threes XCO three laps. Whaley won with a time of 1:08:12.3, with Mezo following right behind her with a time of 1:09:33.6.

Horton led the Men's twos and threes, earning first place through the four laps of XCO with a time of 1:07:30.8, outpacing second place by 14 seconds.
Cayden Holmes finished in the top 10 with an eighth-place finish in a time of 1:12:34.6.

The Men's ones and twos had King athletes in the middle of the pack, with
Jayson Wallace,
Cooper Ward, and
Ian Kangas all finishing one lap behind the leaders, earning 28
th, 31
st, and 32
nd place, respectively.

The DS started in the afternoon, where the King Women had Whaley show a strong performance, finishing in 13
th place overall and second place in the twos and threes with a time of 35.737.

The men's ones and twos had
Colin Burgess lead the way with a 14
th-place finish with a time of 29.018.
Noah Hornbeck finished in 22
nd place with a time of 30.680 seconds.
