KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The King University women's swimming team finished fourth at the Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships. The Tornado had numerous podium finishes and set three personal records over the three-day meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED - SATURDAY
- Alexia Autrey finished 10th in the 200 yard backstroke finals with a time of 2:31.05.
- In the 100 yard freestyle, Madi Matthews finished fifth with a time of 54.14 seconds.
- Also in the 100 yard freestyle finals, Samantha Davis finished ninth at 55.26 seconds, Brooke Williams took 11th at 55.81 seconds, and Michelle Morlock came in 13th with a time of 56.49 seconds.
- Abbie Erme finished sixth in the 200 yard breaststroke finals with a time of 2:33.72. Gwen Haag came in eighth with a time of 2:39.69.
- In the 200 yard butterfly, Stephanie Dansie came in fifth with a time of 2:11.98.
- The 400 yard relay team of Davis, Williams, Dansie and Matthews came in fourth with a time of 3:40.95.
- Ashley Woods took a runner-up finish in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 18:11.66 while Jayne Wolbert came in sixth with a time of 19:30.73.
HOW IT HAPPENED - FRIDAY
- King started off the day by taking a podium finish in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Davis, Erme, Dansie and Matthews placed fifth after touching the wall in a time of 1:55.19.
- Dansie took home the crown in the 400 yard individual medley after posting a time of 4:42.80. Her victory was the lone individual title for the Tornado on the day.
- Morlock touched the wall after a time of 1:05.66 to take 14th in the 100 yard butterfly.
- Matthews picked up her second podium finish of the day after finishing fourth in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:59.77. Williams posted a time of 2:07.98 in the same event to place seventh.
- Erme and Haag placed fifth and seventh in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing with times of 1:10.07 and 1:11.90, respectively.
- Davis returned to the podium for the second time after placing sixth in the 100 yard backstroke. She touched the wall in 1:01.66.
- Woods and Wolbert took second and seventh place in the 1,000 yard freestyle, finishing with times of 10:55.18 and 11:48.72.
HOW IT HAPPENED - THURSDAY
- Woods took a podium finish in the 500 yard freestyle, finishing sixth with a finals time of 5:20.57.
- Wolbert and Autrey also qualified for the finals. Wolbert finished 11th in 5:40.44 and Autrey touched the wall in 6:08.07 to take 16th.
- In the 200 yard individual medley, Dansie finished fifth with a time of 2:14.86.
- Erme and Haag also made the finals with Erme taking 10th with a time of 2:20.03 and Haag taking 14th with a time of 2:27.03.
- In the 50 yard freestyle, Matthews, Williams and Davis all made the finals.
- Matthews took fifth with a time of 24.69 seconds while Williams took seventh at 25.08 seconds.
- Davis finished 12th with a time of 25.55 seconds.
- The 400 yard medley relay team of Davis, Erme, Dansie and Matthews finished fourth with a time of 4:07.11.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Haag won the Conference Carolinas Elite 23 award, becoming the first King women's swimmer to earn the award.
- Autrey posted a personal best 200 yard backstroke time of 2:31.05.
- Morlock came in with a 100 yard freestyle personal best time of 57.49 seconds.
- In the 200 yard breaststroke, Erme posted a personal record time of 2:33.72.
FOR THE FOES
- Emmanuel College won the event while Barton College finished second.
