Bristol, Tenn. — King University Women's Wrestling has been ranked
No. 1 in the 2025–26 Conference Carolinas preseason poll, underscoring the program's tradition of excellence and its continued dominance on the mat. With a roster anchored by proven national performers, the Tornado enter the season as the team to beat.
Leading the way are three standout wrestlers to watch:
- Eliana Bommarito (Senior, Hartland, Mich.) — A veteran leader and one of the most decorated athletes in program history, Bommarito brings international and collegiate success to the Tornado lineup. Her experience and consistency make her a cornerstone of King's championship aspirations.
- Stella Steigler (Junior, Orange, Va.) — Steigler earned 2024 NCWWC All-American honors at Lock Haven, establishing herself as one of the top competitors in her weight class. She looks to build on that success and provide critical depth for King this season.
- Virginia Foard (Junior, Reva, Va.) — Foard was the 2024 NCWWC national runner-up and NCWWC Region II champion, while also being named The Open Mat Freshman of the Year. Her rapid rise has made her one of the most exciting young wrestlers in the country.
With these leaders at the forefront, King University women's wrestling is positioned to defend its standing as one of the premier programs in
Conference Carolinas and across NCAA women's wrestling.
